A five day course which will show
you how to restore and cut coppice correctly,
process the materials and learn what to do with
them. It will cover hurdle making, charcoal making,
green wood carving, hedge laying and many other
traditional and interesting aspects of this ancient
craft such as besom brooms, spar making, gypsy
flowers and stick whistles. You do not have to
attend the whole 5 days, you can just attend the
days that interest you the most.

Learn to make a variety of beautiful
and natural garden products, such as willow hurdles,
obelisks and trellis and explore other uses for willow
in the garden. You will also learn the secrets of
creating ‘living willow’ structures such as arbours
and tunnels. We will discuss sourcing, gathering and
storing willow and you can take away all you make to
adorn your garden!
