"Ways of worshipping are not to be ranked
as better or worse than one another…
It’s all praise, and it’s all right."

What People Say...

I thought it sounded too religious for me, but at the insistence of friends I came along and I have a smile on my face all the way through the service.  ~ Bee

I’m always so glad when the monthly service is coming up and I turn down invitations so that I don’t miss it.  ~ Julia Palmer-Price

I was attracted to Interfaith because I believe passionately that all religions lead to the same God via different routes. There is no right or wrong way. I like the fact that we all sit in a room together and honour our different cultural and religious backgrounds with various chants, readings, poetry, song, meditation and prayer. My daughter (11) and I come away from the services with a feeling of deep peace and joy. My daughter says that the people who attend Interfaith are like her 2nd family.  ~  Wilf

"The ministers, and those that congregate, reflect the openness that, for me, is at the core of what is offered at an Interfaith service. All are welcome, all is offered in friendship through love. We meet in circle -as one, all faiths are offered - as one, none lesser and none greater, simply one. It is a place where I can remember and reaffirm these things"  ~  Roger Marceau

When I belonged to a Christian community I found that my fellow-travellers viewed life as a labyrinth, which has only one path to the goal. If the person sitting next to me had an opposed view on some matter then one of us must be wrong. At an Interfaith meeting I meet people who see life as a maze, which has more than one ‘right’ way. I use the meditation periods to seek which is the right way for me. And, doesn’t quantum physics teach that there may be more than one reality?  ~  Lionel Butcher

When Jane started her Interfaith meetings it answered a real need in me. I had a need for a place to worship where different faiths could make friends. I think it is of great value to hear scriptures & words from other faiths.   I am happy that I can voice my faith as I feel it, without causing offence or discomfort. We have real interaction in our meetings which feels a lot more meaningful than being more distant, and it is good to be involved.  I have learnt to meditate, something not attempted before, I find this allows a feeling of detachment and a depth of thought not felt before. Jane can be flexible in her approach to accommodate our different needs.  After Lionel and I were married, Jane created a service where the theme was union. We were able to share with everyone a poem that means a lot to us. We were uplifted by the thoughts and blessings in this service and it culminated in a shower of rose petals over us as we left!  When some friends were married Jane took the service, which to our surprise was partly Christian & partly Hindu. The effect was great harmony and it was as if the idea of ‘Interfaith’ had been put into very substantial practice. I found the service very spiritual and rejoiced in it for quite a while afterwards.  ~  Barbara Meddows
