In order to succeed in Music, the greatest asset a student can have – even more than a good
instrument - is a good teacher. Listed below and partially obscured behind the bare details of qualifications, contact details etc. are a group of gifted, highly dedicated, passionate, yet professional individuals.
Luckily, they are willing to share their passion, their skills and their experience with us. They will inspire you, encourage you and help you to express yourself on your instrument, and to deepen your appreciation of the joy that music brings.
In a fairer society, such people would be revered. The least we can do is to remember that these special people are also skilled professionals deserving of our respect, cooperation and appreciation.
You are not just choosing a qualified person such as a plumber etc, you are also choosing a mentor and source of inspiration. Good luck.
The list is arranged in the following order;
1. By instrument, starting with the smallest.
2. Alphabetically, by geographical area
3. Alphabetically by surname.
The main aim of this list is to be comprehensive. Therefore it is a non-selective list of all those teachers who responded to a mail shot. No particular endorsement is implied by appearance on this list, although to the best of my knowledge all those listed are dedicated hardworking professionals and fine upstanding citizens. I certainly would not include any I regarded otherwise.
There is no set format to the entries, which teachers complete themselves. Some may not include their qualifications, age-ranges taught, or whether or not they have CRB (Criminal Record Bureau) checks etc. If any of these are important to you,
check first with the teacher.
